We are committed to building creative, effective partnerships with non-profit organizations to support their work. Each year the Nantucket Yoga Festival works with charitable partners and supports local fund-raising efforts.
This year we are partnering with the Nantucket Boys and Girls Club. A portion of the proceeds from every full festival pass sold will be donated to and directly benefit the Nantucket Boys and Girls Club.
Our History
The Club was just organized as the “Nantucket Boys Club” in 1945. At the time it was only a small gathering place where a few boys could play checkers or chess in a safe place after school. Throughout the past 68 years, we have made enormous strides. The Nantucket Boys & Girls Club is now “home” to over 600 members annually and has an array of dynamic programs from athletics, to art, to homework help, computers, and so much more. All of this in a safe environment with dedicated, professional staff members who are proud of what they do and who they serve.
Fun Facts!
- As the island’s largest youth organization, we have over 600 members during the school year- 53% of the children enrolled in the Nantucket Elementary School, Cyrus Pierce Middle School, Nantucket New School and the Lighthouse School are registered Club members.
- Last year over 100 community volunteers made themselves available to the Club.
- A typical member will spend about 20 hours at the Club every week.
- Our youth basketball program serves over 300 children per season.

Sam Sylvia Pro-Am Golf Tournament
June 8-9, 2013
This special weekend event consists of a pairings cocktail party Saturday evening, golf
at Sankaty Head Golf Club on Sunday, followed by an awards luncheon.
Tim Russert Summer GrooveAugust 17, 2013Throughout the past 11 years the Tim Russert Summer Groove has grown to become a highlight of the summer social calendar by featuring a sparkling evening of fine food, fun music and incredible generosity with over 500 attendees.
Island Events to Benefit the Nantucket Boys & Girls Club
Each year we are fortunate to have other groups and individuals put on fundraisers throughout the community to benefit our Club. In the past we’ve been honored to be a part of the Summer Soiree, the Hot Glass Road Show 2012, Texas Hold’em Poker Tournament held at Faregrounds Restaurant, and the Community Fall BBQ held hereat the Club. We are so excited and pleased to be a part of the 2013 Nantucket Yoga Festival!
