Tristan Boyer Binns has been practicing yoga since she was 14, when she stumbled into an eye-opening Breath of Fire workshop. Iyengar yoga became her main practice in England in the 1990s, and helped her get through pregnancies and sail into motherhood with as much equanimity as possible. Tristan completed her Iyengar teacher training in London with Julie Hodges and is a Certified Iyengar Yoga Teacher. Living in Boston since 2009, Tristan studies with, works with, and occasionally assists Patricia Walden. She enjoys helping students find new ways to see their challenges, embrace the incredible strength we all have–physical and emotional–and learn to relax and release into softness. She is known for her sense of humor, detailed instructions, and love of ropes and restorative classes. Tristan is president of the Iyengar Yoga Association of New England and the author of Yoga Kurunta: Learning the Ropes, a comprehensive guide to yoga on the wall ropes.
